Why do a 6 month program?
This program allows you to progress naturally through different stages. Some shorter programs, do not allow for
growth, learning and processing information. Most people who go through this program cannot believe how quickly
the time passes. There is no rush in yoga. There are some poses and breathing techniques that require a
continuous practice over a period of time before advancing to the next step. We like to honor that time.
This program allows you to deepen your own practice before focusing on teaching others. Having your own
practice is an important part of teaching.

I remember thinking that I just wanted to get my certification so I could teach. I understand that is a common
thought. Programs are expensive and do take time and commitment. At the end of the program, you want to be
able to feel confident with your practice, knowledge and teaching skills. It is not just about getting certified. It's
about taking the journey and learning every step of the way. You want to walk away with a learning experience that
gives you the confidence to share your knowledge with others.
The Program
I started this program because I wanted well qualified teachers at ILYC. What I found when I was hiring teachers, was
that the level of training varied greatly among 200 Hour Programs. I wanted teachers to be comfortable teaching a
variety of classes to any population. I started a program with the focus on safety, alignment and ability to create
positive energy.
The program is founded in traditional, classical yoga styles that are relevant in today's society. Yoga has been
around for 5000 years because of it's benefits. However, I wouldn't want you to just accept that it works. We explore
different styles and the reasons that they work so well.
We explore the physical and energetic properties of sequencing a class so that the students gain maximum benefits
-physically, mentally and spiritually.
You will learn how to teach classes for special populations: Prenatal, Children, Restorative Yoga, Chair Yoga and
more.
